IFUT members who previously expressed interest in joining the IFUT AI Working Group are warmly invited to attend a joint IFUT–TUI symposium entitled “Assessment and AI in Irish Higher Education Institutions”.

The symposium will explore the challenges and opportunities artificial intelligence presents for assessment in higher education and will help inform the unions’ future work in this area.

Attendance is limited, with places divided equally between IFUT and TUI members. We expect the event to be oversubscribed, and places will therefore be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

A short survey is also being circulated to help inform contributors to the symposium about the issues and areas of greatest interest to members. Members are strongly encouraged to complete the survey by 19 October 2026, whether or not they are able to attend the event.
